Dads' (Minty) spag bol has been a family favorite for many years, whether filling out with sausages to help go further or fancying up with Home made bread and finishing with basil, Ginel and Christian devour the whole dish and would invite their friends to eat if Dad is doing Spag Bol.
When Ginel and Christian were little, Ginel would mostly eat the sauce Christian the spaghetti so they would end up sharing their plates🙃
Aldi Chunky Mushroom Pasta Sauce
750gm Mince Meat
Mushrooms more the better
1 Large Onion
1 Garlic Clove
Tin Tomatoes (Plumb preferred for thickness)
Oxo
Sprinkle of Sugar
Seasoning
Grated Cheese for serving
Heat the oil on medium heat and Add sliced onions for around 5min
Break Mince Meat into Onions and stir through or 2-3 min
Crumble Oxo and mix well until mince is brown
if you have a pool of oil in your mix - empty this out
Season the mince and taste - Don't be shy with the seasoning
Add pasta sauce and tin tomatoes
Fill the pasta sauce jar with boiling water stir well and season if needed
Add a pinch of sugar to balance the acidity of tomatoes
Bring to a boil add Mushrooms
Leave to cook down for 20/30 min on medium to low heat to thicken
With Spaghetti Pasta
Grate as much or as little Cheese on top as you want 😋
Add Cooked sausages for your Spag Bol o go further
To check if there too much oil when ooking make a well in the middle of your mince
When filling the jar with boiling water... the jar will be hot!!!!
